At AgroBerries, our mission to deliver high-quality berries year-round continues to grow. As part of our global expansion strategy, we are proud to announce our new farming operations in Morocco, representing a €40 million investment to support our fast-growing European platform.
A natural step in our global journey
With more than 2,500 hectares of owned farms worldwide and a trusted network of third-party growers, AgroBerries has always believed in building strong foundations close to our customers. Our move into Morocco reflects that commitment, bringing us even closer to our European retail partners across the UK and EU.
“Our investment in Morocco is a natural next step,” says Jorge Varela, Co-Founder and CEO of AgroBerries. "It draws on our agronomical expertise and long-term grower partnerships to help us deliver exceptional quality, season after season.”
Sustainable growth across regions
The first phase of our Moroccan expansion includes the planting of ~300 hectares of blueberries across three key growing regions. Planting began in 2022 and will continue through 2023.
In the coming years, we plan to expand our grower network by licensing our proprietary berry varieties, with the goal of reaching ~1,000 hectares across multiple berry categories. This model ensures we bring not only supply consistency but also varietal excellence and local expertise to our operations.
Strengthening year-round supply for Europe
Our investment in Morocco plays a crucial role in building a truly global, yet locally grounded supply model. By complementing our existing operations in Chile and Peru, Moroccan production helps us bridge seasonal gaps and meet European demand with fresh, sustainable, and flavorful berries all year long.
As always, our focus remains on quality, sustainability, and trusted partnerships. Values that have guided us since 1996 and continue to shape our future.
AgroBerries is proud to lead the way in global berry production, rooted in excellence, growing with purpose.
Let’s grow together.
