New proprietary blueberry varieties and a first US commercial harvest of Sweet Karoline blackberries mark an important season for Berry Fresh, our premium berry brand in the Americas.
As the California season winds down, Berry Fresh is preparing for a strong Oregon summer built on years of patient investment in premium, flavour-focused varieties.
Berry Fresh is growing its blueberry offering with additional plantings of Sekoya genetics, including SekoyaCrunch, SekoyaNova and SekoyaFiesta. Developed for Oregon's conditions, these varieties are lifting quality during an early-season window long dominated by legacy fruit, delivering the flavour and eating experience shoppers increasingly look for.
The Oregon operation has become a cornerstone of Berry Fresh's North American supply network. Set along the Santiam River, it pairs established farms with a modern packing facility that has scaled steadily over the years. In 2025 the site packed more than 15 million pounds of blueberries [confirm figure and whether to publish], a meaningful share of the region's fresh supply.
This season also brings a milestone: the first commercial harvest of Berry Fresh's Sweet Karoline blackberries in the United States.
With harvest getting under way and strong expectations for the months ahead, Berry Fresh is ready to bring the best of the Oregon crop to customers and consumers across the country.
